There are 2.5 million child laborers in India, which is set to increase by 2022. To tackle this problem, the Indian government has set up many programs and initiatives for the welfare of children. However, the government needs to focus more on the education of children and the use of technology in this field as well. This can make the difference between success and failure.
There’s a growing need to provide quality education for India’s children. Most families can’t afford private schools. I had been working on my Master’s degree in public policy when I met a man named Arvind Gupta. He told me he was building a school in a poor area of Delhi, India.
He invited me to visit his school to see what they were doing and the results. I was blown away by what I saw and asked him how he could create a school that provided a high level of education without a lot of money.
He invited me to join him as a partner in a company that would help create schools in India. I agreed to partner with him and build a network of other organizations to allow him to accomplish this goal. We called this network of partners “The Children First Foundation.” Over the next few years, I worked with the organization to raise funds to build schools in India.
I also worked with the foundation to create the first online courses in English for students in India. In 2014, The Children First Foundation changed its name to The Abode Education Group and launched its first Abode School in India.

Understanding the impact of early childhood education, especially in underprivileged areas, is important. In India, nearly 70 percent of children are enrolled in government schools. These schools are often overcrowded, poorly equipped, and offer no teacher support. In addition to the physical and emotional needs of the children, teachers are often overworked and lack the resources to teach.
A study showed that children who attend early childhood education classes have better results in school. A child who starts school at five has a 90 percent chance of finishing secondary school, compared to a 60 percent chance for those who begin at nine.
